World Federation of Friends of Museums

It aims to enhance the status of National Museum of Korea and Friends of National Museum of Korea (FNMK) through the domestic and international cooperation. It also seeks to strengthen the global cooperation by inviting international researchers.
International symposiums, and conducting the support activities of FNMK. In addition, policy reform and support activities helps the museum get close to the public as a multi-cultural complex.
The aim of World Federation of Friends of Museums (WFFM) is to promote and spread the idea of Friends of Museums worldwide. The enrichment of museums and the safeguard of our cultural heritage are central to all the activities carried out by the Federation. Legally constituted in Belgium in 1975, WFFM is an organization officially recognized by UNESCO. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the International Council of Museums(ICOM) and WFFM, and they have maintained close relations. Its members, 50 associations in 40 different countries, participate in the international, national, and regional activities of the organization. KFFM and FNMK has joined WFFM as a general member and an associate member since 2009.

Korean Federation of Friends of Museums

Korean Federation of Friends of Museums is a non-profit organization aimed at providing support for the museums in Korea. KFFM’s members are Friends of Gyeongju National Museum, Friends of National Folk Museum of Korea, Friends of the Buyeo National Museum, Friends of Busan Museum and so forth. As a member of WFFM, KFFM is actively engaged in the revitalization of Friends of Museums in Asia.
